The EATON 2024-4-8S is a 90-degree flared tube male elbow fitting machined from steel for use in high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system lines. It connects a 1/2-inch OD flared tube to a 1/4-inch male NPT port using a 37-degree flare seat, the standard angle specified under SAE J514. Rated to 6000 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting handles demanding service conditions across a wide temperature range of -65 to 400 degrees F. Plumbers, hydraulic system technicians, and fluid-power mechanics install this type of fitting when routing tube lines to threaded port connections at a 90-degree change of direction.
This fitting suits residential and commercial fluid-power, hydraulic, and pneumatic plumbing applications where a 37-degree flare tube end must transition to a male NPT threaded port. Common install scenarios include hydraulic equipment, fuel lines, compressed-gas systems, and industrial fluid circuits. The 90-degree elbow orientation allows routing in tight spaces without bending the tube. The Flare x MNPT end configuration means one end accepts a standard 37-degree flared tube and the other threads directly into an NPT female port.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-power systems requiring a 1/2-inch OD 37-degree flared tube connection to a 1/4-inch NPT female port.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, or fluid-power mechanics. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the fluid media to the NPT male threads only — keep sealant off the flare seat. The flare seat joint relies on metal-to-metal contact and does not use thread sealant; verify the tube end is properly flared to 37 degrees before tightening the tube nut.
