The EATON 2024-2-4S is a 90-degree flared tube male elbow fitting manufactured from steel. It connects a 1/4-inch OD flared tube line to a 1/8-inch male NPT port, making it a compact directional fitting used in hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, and fuel line assemblies. The fitting uses a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and a standard NPT thread on the male end. With a rated temperature range of -65 to 400 degrees F, it suits demanding service environments where reliable leak-free connections are required. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during line fabrication or repair work.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a 90-degree direction change is needed in a small-diameter tubing run. Typical install scenarios include instrument lines, refrigerant piping, fuel systems, and compressed air circuits that terminate at NPT-threaded ports. The Flare x MNPT end configuration allows the technician to transition from a flared tube connection directly into a threaded port or valve body without an additional adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD flared tubing with 1/8-inch MNPT port connections, conforming to SAE 070202 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter familiar with flared tube connections and NPT threading practices. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any existing fitting. Inspect the tube flare for cracks or deformation before seating against the fitting; a damaged flare will not seal properly. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the service fluid to the NPT threads, and do not overtighten, as steel fittings can crack the flare if excess torque is applied.
