The EATON 2021-4-8S is a steel flared tube connector designed to join tubing to a male NPT threaded port in high-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. It features a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and a male NPT threaded end on the opposite side, providing a reliable metal-to-metal seal. The connector accommodates a 1/2-inch tube OD with a 0.28-inch inside diameter and measures 1.53 inches in overall length. Rated to 6000 psi maximum working pressure, it is built for demanding hydraulic and instrumentation applications where leak-free connections are critical. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers.
This connector is suited for residential and commercial hydraulic lines, instrumentation tubing, and fluid power systems operating across a wide temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F. It is commonly installed where a tubing run must terminate at a threaded port on a valve, manifold, pump, or cylinder. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for hydraulic and instrumentation tubing systems using 1/2-inch OD tubing with a 37-degree flare and 1/4-inch NPT threaded port connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician following applicable codes such as the IPC or relevant SAE standards. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic or fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect the tubing flare for concentricity and surface defects before assembly, as an imperfect flare is the leading cause of joint leakage. Do not overtighten; follow torque guidelines published in SAE J514 for the applicable tube size and material.
