The EATON 1290-4S is a steel flared tube nut designed for use in high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system connections. This 3-piece nut accepts a 1/4 inch tube OD and features a 37-degree flare angle conforming to SAE standards. The 7/16-20 thread size provides a secure, leak-resistant connection rated to 4500 psi maximum working pressure. With an overall length of 0.62 inches, this compact fitting is suited for installations where space is limited. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of fitting in both industrial and mobile equipment applications.
This tube nut is used wherever SAE 37-degree flare connections are required in hydraulic lines, fluid transfer systems, and related plumbing assemblies. The steel construction handles demanding pressure environments. It is appropriate for residential, commercial, and industrial fluid system work, particularly in applications requiring SAE 070110 compliant components. Typical installations include hydraulic equipment, compressed air lines, and high-pressure tubing assemblies using 1/4 inch OD tubing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for hydraulic and fluid system assemblies using 1/4 inch OD tubing with SAE 37-degree flare end connections and a 7/16-20 thread standard.
Installation of flared tube fittings should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, plumber, or hydraulic technician. Depressurize and isolate the fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Use appropriate flaring tools to ensure the tube end meets the required 37-degree flare geometry before assembly. Overtightening can crack the flare or damage threads — tighten to hand-snug and then follow applicable SAE torque guidelines for the fitting size.
