The EATON 05705B-1561 is a brass barbed hose fitting connector designed to join a 3/8 inch NPTF male thread to a 5/16 inch inside diameter hose. Constructed from brass, this connector provides reliable sealing in fluid transfer applications where a secure barb-to-thread transition is required. The NPTF thread standard ensures a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying solely on sealant tape. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals use this type of fitting where a threaded port must transition to a flexible hose line in tight-clearance assemblies.
This barbed connector is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and water supply lines, and general fluid transfer systems that use 5/16 inch ID flexible hose. The male NPTF end threads directly into a female-threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment housing. The barbed end accepts a push-on or clamp-secured hose. Its compact brass construction makes it appropriate for use in areas with moderate vibration or where corrosion resistance from a non-ferrous metal is preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 3/8 inch NPTF male threaded ports and 5/16 inch inside diameter flexible hose lines.
Installation of this fitting should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line before removing or installing any hose fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system fluid to the NPTF threads before assembly. Do not overtighten — brass fittings can crack if excessive torque is applied.
