The EATON 05704B-C02 is a brass barbed hose elbow fitting designed to connect flexible hose to a threaded port at a 90-degree angle. It features a 1/8 inch male NPTF threaded end and a 0.25 inch barbed end sized for 1/4 inch inside diameter hose. The brass construction resists corrosion and handles the moderate pressures common in pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid transfer lines. It is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians wherever a low-profile directional connection is needed between a hose and a threaded fitting port. The NPTF thread form creates a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying solely on a sealant.
This fitting is suited for use in residential and light commercial applications including compressed air lines, fuel delivery systems, coolant circuits, and other fluid conveyance systems that use 1/4 inch ID flexible hose. The elbow configuration is especially useful in tight spaces where a straight fitting would create excessive hose bend or strain. Its compact overall length of 0.86 inches keeps the assembly close to the port, reducing leverage stress on the connection point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation barbed hose elbow for systems using 1/4 inch inside diameter flexible hose with a 1/8 inch NPTF threaded port.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician. Depressurize and drain the line before removing any existing fitting. NPTF threads are designed for a dry-seal connection, but thread sealant tape may be applied per system requirements and applicable codes. Do not overtighten; hand-snug plus a controlled turn with a wrench appropriate for the 0.03 inch hex is sufficient to seat the threads without cracking the brass body.
