The EASYFLEX EZFG038-31 is a gas ball valve fitting designed to connect flexible gas lines to appliance supply points. It features a 0.5 inch OD flare inlet and a 0.5 inch female iron pipe (FIP) outlet, allowing a direct transition between a flared gas connector and a threaded pipe connection. The quarter-turn ball valve provides a manual shutoff for the downstream appliance, a standard requirement in residential and light commercial gas installations. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters install this valve as part of an appliance gas hookup or gas line service assembly.
This valve is suited for natural gas and propane applications where a shutoff is required at the appliance connection point. Typical installations include gas ranges, dryers, water heaters, and space heaters connected via corrugated stainless steel or other flexible gas connectors that terminate in a flare fitting. The FIP outlet threads onto the appliance inlet or an intermediate fitting in the supply line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ball valve for residential and light commercial gas supply lines terminating in a 0.5 inch OD flare connection with a 0.5 inch FIP downstream fitting.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with IFGC requirements and applicable local codes. Shut off the main gas supply and verify zero pressure at the line before making or breaking any connections. Apply thread sealant rated for gas service to all FIP threads. Leak-test all connections with an approved gas leak detection solution before restoring gas flow and lighting appliances.
