The EASYFLEX efgc-012-ye-1010-48 is a yellow epoxy coated 304 stainless steel flexible gas connector designed for residential and light commercial gas appliance connections. Measuring 48 inches in length with a 5/8 inch outer diameter and 1/2 inch inner diameter, it connects via 1/2 inch male iron pipe (MIP) fittings on both ends. The yellow epoxy coating meets standard color-coding requirements for gas service and provides an additional layer of corrosion resistance over the 304 stainless steel braid. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters install this type of connector during appliance rough-in or replacement service calls.
This connector is suited for natural gas and liquid propane appliance hook-ups in residential kitchens, utility rooms, and mechanical spaces, as well as light commercial applications. The 48 inch length provides working slack for appliance pull-out, leveling, and service access. The 1/2 inch MIP x MIP end configuration is a common thread size used on gas ranges, dryers, water heaters, and similar equipment. The 1/2 psi rated working pressure aligns with typical low-pressure gas distribution systems found downstream of the service regulator.
Designed as a replacement or new-installation flexible gas connector for residential and light commercial gas appliances using 1/2 inch MIP threaded connections, including ranges, dryers, water heaters, and similar equipment operating on low-pressure natural gas or LP gas systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off the gas supply at the service valve before disconnecting or connecting any fittings. Apply an approved gas-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly and pressure-test the connection with a leak detection solution after restoring gas flow. Never route a flexible gas connector through walls, floors, ceilings, or concealed spaces.
