The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL TDD50-4020S-ALT-D is a solid carbide, single-end, center-cutting end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 5/16-inch cutting diameter with a matching 5/16-inch shank and a 4-flute geometry that balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating provides high-temperature resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other abrasive materials. Manufactured in the USA, this end mill is built to consistent tolerances for reliable performance in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills across job shop, aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking applications. The center-cut configuration allows plunge cutting directly into a workpiece, adding operational flexibility. It is appropriate for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similarly hard ferrous alloys where heat resistance at the cutting edge is critical to maintaining dimensional accuracy.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16-inch straight shank end mill held in a standard ER collet, end mill holder, or set-screw holder.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine-specific lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the collet or holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended feeds and speeds for the workpiece material and coating type. Inspect the tool edge for chipping or wear before each use.
