The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL SC400-006-D is a cobalt stub-length drill bit with a 135-degree split point, manufactured in the USA. Stub-length drills offer a shorter flute and overall length compared to jobber-length bits, which increases rigidity and reduces deflection in tight spaces or on hard materials. The 135-degree split point eliminates the need for a center punch on most materials by starting on contact without walking. This bit is suited for machinists, fabricators, pipefitters, and HVAC sheet-metal technicians drilling through steel, stainless, cast iron, and other hard-to-machine alloys.
The SC400-006-D is used in production and maintenance drilling applications where standard jobber bits flex or chatter. The stub-length geometry is well suited for drill press work, CNC operations, and hand-drill use in confined areas such as sheet-metal enclosures, equipment frames, and structural steel. The 3/32-inch diameter covers a range of common tapping and clearance hole tasks across trade and light industrial work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cobalt stub drill bit suitable for standard 3/32-inch drill chucks used in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC equipment across trade and industrial applications.
Cobalt stub drills are installed and operated by machinists, pipefitters, fabricators, and general trade technicians. Secure the bit fully in the chuck and verify there is no runout before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hardened steel or stainless alloys to extend bit life. Always wear eye protection and follow applicable shop safety standards when operating drilling equipment.
