The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL SB-WB.875 is a spade bit designed for boring clean, flat-bottomed holes in wood. With a cutting diameter of 7/8 inches and an overall length of 6 inches, this bit provides the reach needed for drilling through framing members, structural lumber, and wood substrates where standard-length bits fall short. It is a hand-tool consumable installed by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who need to route conduit, pipe, or ductwork through wood framing. The extended length allows access in tight or deep applications where a standard-length bit cannot reach the full depth of the workpiece.
This spade bit is suited for residential and light commercial work. Typical applications include drilling through wall studs, floor joists, and roof framing to pass wiring, pipe, or refrigerant line sets. The 7/8-inch diameter is a common size for routing 3/4-inch conduit, copper tubing, and similar trade rough-in work. At 6 inches in length, it reaches through doubled framing members and thick sheathing without requiring an extension.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch hex-shank or 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch drill chucks compatible with spade bit shanks. Intended for use in wood and wood-composite materials only.
This bit is installed by electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians during rough-in phases. Ensure the drill is set to an appropriate speed for the wood species and bit diameter before beginning the bore. Do not use this bit on metal, masonry, or concrete. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before each use and replace if the cutting edges are chipped or deformed.
