The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL NHD-20000-115-I is a 2-inch, 11.5 TPI carbon steel hex die designed for cutting National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on pipe. It fits standard hex die stocks and is used to cut or recut external tapered pipe threads to NPT specification. At 3 pounds, it is a solid, full-size production die suited for shop use or field threading work. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors rely on this type of die when threading steel or iron pipe for threaded joint assemblies.
This die is intended for 2-inch nominal pipe size with an 11.5 threads-per-inch NPT thread form, the standard taper thread specification for pressure-rated pipe joints in plumbing, gas piping, and industrial piping systems. It is an import-grade die appropriate for general-purpose threading tasks where high-volume production tooling is not required. Typical applications include threading black iron pipe, galvanized pipe, and similar carbon-steel pipe stock in residential and light commercial mechanical installations.
Designed as a replacement or spare hex die for use in standard 2-inch hex die stocks compatible with NPT pipe threading applications.
Installation and use of this die should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified mechanical tradesperson. Secure the die firmly in the appropriate hex die stock before use and ensure the pipe is properly supported and deburred before threading. Apply cutting oil liberally during the threading operation to extend die life and produce clean thread form. Follow applicable code requirements — IFGC for gas piping or IPC for water and drain systems — when joining threaded pipe assemblies.
