The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL MT-240-300-B-I is an M24.0x3.00 high-speed steel (HSS) metric bottom tap designed to cut internal threads to the bottom of blind holes. With a 24 mm major diameter and 3.00 mm thread pitch, this bottom tap produces fully formed metric threads in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where thread depth is critical. It is suited for manual tapping and compatible machine tapping operations. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians install this tap when a plug or taper tap cannot reach required thread depth in a closed-end bore.
This tap is used in general metalworking, maintenance and repair, and production environments where metric M24 threads are required. Typical applications include threading bolt holes in structural steel, machinery frames, flanges, and fabricated assemblies. The bottom chamfer geometry — approximately 1 to 2 thread lead-in — allows threading to within one to two pitches of the bottom of a blind hole, maximizing usable thread engagement in depth-critical bores.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use metric bottom tap for applications requiring M24.0x3.00 ISO metric internal threads in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance operations.
This tap should be installed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with tapping procedures and speeds appropriate for the workpiece material. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the tap is properly aligned with the drilled hole before beginning thread cutting to avoid tap breakage. Use an appropriate cutting fluid for the material being tapped to extend tap life and improve thread finish. Follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating tapping equipment.
