The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL MT-100-125-B-I is an M10 x 1.25 metric bottom tap manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS). Bottom taps, also called plug-bottom or bottoming taps, are ground with minimal lead threads so they can cut full threads close to the bottom of a blind hole. This tap is sized for the M10 fine-pitch thread standard at a 1.25 mm pitch. It is a standard import-grade tap suited for general threading work in shops, maintenance environments, and field repair applications where production-grade tooling is not required.
This tap is used wherever a metric M10 x 1.25 internal thread must be cut near the base of a blind hole. Typical applications include threading tapped holes in automotive components, machinery frames, brackets, and structural assemblies that call for the fine 1.25 mm pitch rather than the coarse M10 x 1.5 standard. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and millwrights are the primary users. It is also appropriate for job-site repair tapping when thread chasing or re-cutting a damaged hole.
Designed as a standard replacement or supplemental bottom tap for any tap-and-die set or tapping setup requiring an M10 x 1.25 metric thread profile.
This tap is installed using a standard tap wrench or T-handle wrench sized for the tap shank. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before tapping. Apply cutting fluid or tapping compound appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and produce a clean thread. Back the tap out periodically to clear chips, especially in blind holes, to prevent tap breakage.
