The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL MHD-070-100-I is a carbon steel metric hex die designed for cutting external M7 x 1.00 mm threads. It is used to cut or recut standard metric threads on bolts, studs, and rod stock. The hexagonal body allows it to be turned with a standard hex die stock or wrench, making thread cutting fast and repeatable in the field or shop. At 0.48 pounds, it is a compact, hand-tool-compatible die suited for maintenance, repair, and fabrication work across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical trades.
This die is intended for use on M7 x 1.00 mm thread profiles, which follow the standard ISO metric coarse thread pitch. It is well suited for bench work, field repair, and production threading where a hex-body die is required. Typical applications include threading mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar soft-to-medium-hardness materials. This is an import-grade die appropriate for general-purpose threading tasks where production-grade tooling is not required.
Designed for use in standard hex die stocks that accept the appropriate hex body size for M7 metric dies. Suitable for cutting external threads on M7 x 1.00 mm fastener stock and rod in general-purpose threading applications.
Thread cutting with a hex die should be performed by a qualified tradesperson or machinist familiar with proper threading technique. Secure the workpiece firmly in a vise before beginning. Apply cutting oil generously to the die and workpiece to reduce friction, extend tool life, and produce cleaner threads. Advance the die in short increments and back off periodically to break chips and clear the flutes.
