The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL LHJ100-016-I is a left-hand high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit in a 1/4 inch diameter. Left-hand drill bits rotate counterclockwise, making them the go-to choice for extracting broken bolts, damaged studs, and seized fasteners without a separate extractor tool. Machined from high-speed steel, this bit holds an edge across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, plumbers, and electricians whenever a fastener has sheared flush or spun loose in a threaded bore.
This left-hand jobber drill is well-suited to both shop and field repair work. Jobber-length geometry provides a practical balance of reach and rigidity for general-purpose drilling in metal, making it a standard bench and drill-press tool in maintenance, mechanical, and trade service environments. It is particularly useful when reverse-drilling a seized screw or bolt, as the counterclockwise cutting action often backs the fastener out before a full hole is drilled.
Designed as a general-purpose left-hand jobber drill bit compatible with standard 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch keyed and keyless chucks on corded drills, cordless drills, and drill presses that support reverse rotation.
Left-hand drill bits must be used with a drill or drill press set to reverse rotation — confirm reverse mode is engaged before drilling. Secure the workpiece firmly in a vise or clamp before applying pressure to prevent movement and bit breakage. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety practices when drilling metal. If the bit is being used for broken fastener extraction, center-punch the fastener face before drilling to keep the bit tracking true.
