The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-8750-9-B-D is a 7/8-9 high-speed steel (HSS) hand bottom tap manufactured in the USA. Bottom taps are ground with minimal chamfer on the leading threads, allowing them to cut threads nearly to the bottom of a blind hole. This makes the HT-8750-9-B-D the correct choice when full thread depth is required close to the floor of a non-through hole. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die professionals use this tap for threading operations in steel, iron, aluminum, and similar materials where a bottoming chamfer style is specified.
This tap is suited for manual hand tapping operations across general metalworking, maintenance and repair, and fabrication applications. The 7/8-9 designation indicates a 7/8-inch nominal diameter with 9 threads per inch (TPI), a coarse-thread (UNC) specification commonly used in structural and heavy-duty fastening applications. It is appropriate for use in both shop and field environments where a standard UNC bottom tap is required.
Designed as a standard 7/8-9 UNC bottom tap compatible with hand tap wrenches and T-handle tap holders sized for this thread class.
This tap is intended for use by machinists and maintenance technicians performing hand tapping operations. Always secure the workpiece firmly before tapping and use the appropriate cutting fluid for the material being threaded. When tapping blind holes, back the tap out periodically to clear chips and prevent tap breakage. Inspect the tap for wear or damage before each use.
