The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-6875-11-B-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) hand bottom tap designed to cut threads to the bottom of blind holes. With a 11/16-inch major diameter and 11 threads per inch (TPI), this tap is suited for manual tapping operations where thread depth must extend as close to the hole bottom as possible. Bottom taps carry very little chamfer on the lead threads, allowing them to reach full-depth threads in tight-clearance applications. It is an import-grade tool intended for general-purpose threading in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials.
This tap is used in maintenance, repair, and production threading applications where a plug or taper tap has already started the thread and a bottom tap is needed to finish it. Typical scenarios include engine work, structural fabrication, and fixture assembly where blind holes require fully threaded depth. It is installed by hand with a standard tap wrench and is appropriate for use by machinists, millwrights, plumbers, and general maintenance technicians.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard hand tap for use in any application requiring 11/16-11 UNC threads cut to the bottom of a blind hole.
This tap is intended for use by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard tap wrench. Always secure the workpiece before tapping and ensure the hole is drilled to the correct tap drill size for 11/16-11 threads before use. Apply cutting fluid to extend tool life and reduce friction during the threading operation. If a bottom tap is being used to finish a blind hole, a taper or plug tap should be run through the hole first to establish the thread form.
