The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-632-B-D is a 6-32 bottoming hand tap machined from high-speed steel (HSS), manufactured in the USA. A bottoming tap is ground with minimal chamfer on the leading threads, allowing it to cut threads to the bottom of a blind hole where a taper or plug tap cannot reach. This tap is sized for 6-32 Unified National Coarse (UNC) threads, one of the most common thread sizes in light mechanical and electrical assembly work. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool and die professionals reach for this tap when a through-tap leaves an incomplete thread in a blind hole.
The HT-632-B-D is suited for hand tapping operations in light-duty metalworking, repair, and assembly applications. Its 6-32 thread form is widely used in electrical enclosures, panel work, instrumentation, and small machine components. Because this is a hand tap, it is driven by a standard tap wrench rather than a machine spindle, making it practical for field repair work as well as shop use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard hand tap for use with any 6-32 UNC tapped-hole application. Compatible with standard tap wrenches sized for small hand taps.
Hand taps should be installed by a qualified machinist or experienced technician using an appropriate tap wrench. Always ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before tapping. Apply cutting fluid or tapping compound to extend tap life and improve thread quality. Back the tap off periodically to break chips and prevent tap breakage, particularly in blind holes.
