The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-5625-12-B-I is a 9/16-12 high-speed steel (HSS) hand bottom tap designed for threading blind holes to the full depth of cut. The bottom tap geometry features minimal lead threads, allowing it to cut threads as close to the bottom of a hole as possible. This tap is driven by hand with a tap wrench and is suited for threading ferrous and non-ferrous materials in maintenance, repair, and fabrication settings. At 0.31 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-piece cutting tool used by machinists, pipefitters, and general tradespeople.
This tap is used wherever a 9/16-12 UNC thread must be cut by hand, particularly in blind-hole applications where a taper or plug tap cannot finish the thread to full depth. Typical applications include threading bolt holes in steel plate, pipe flanges, brackets, and mechanical assemblies. It is well suited to shop and field repair work where power tapping equipment is not available or practical.
Designed as a hand-drive bottom tap for cutting 9/16-12 UNC internal threads in blind or through holes where full-depth threading is required.
This tap is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and general tradespeople using a standard tap wrench. Always ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before tapping. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tap life and improve thread quality. Back the tap out periodically to clear chips and prevent breakage, particularly in deep blind holes.
