The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-15000-6-B-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) hand bottom tap designed for cutting internal threads in through-holes and blind holes where full thread depth to the bottom is required. With a 1-1/2 inch nominal diameter and 6 threads per inch (TPI) UNC thread form, this tap is built for heavy-duty threading applications in metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair work. The bottom chamfer style allows threading closer to the base of a blind hole than taper or plug taps, making it the final step in a three-tap sequence or a standalone tool when near-full thread depth is the job requirement.
This tap is suited for use in industrial maintenance, machine shops, fabrication yards, and field repair scenarios where large-diameter fastener threads must be cut or restored. The 1-1/2-6 UNC size is common in heavy structural, industrial, and mechanical assemblies. It is intended for hand tapping operations and is used by machinists, pipefitters, millwrights, and mechanical contractors working with large-diameter threaded connections.
Designed as an OEM-style hand bottom tap for cutting or restoring 1-1/2 in 6 TPI UNC internal threads in ferrous and non-ferrous metals using a standard hand tap wrench.
This tap is installed by licensed machinists, millwrights, and mechanical tradespeople using a properly sized hand tap wrench. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before tapping. Use an appropriate cutting fluid to reduce heat and extend tool life. When used as a bottom tap, a taper or plug tap should be run through the hole first to establish the thread lead before finishing with this bottom tap.
