The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL HT-11250-12-B-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) hand bottom tap designed for cutting full threads to the bottom of a blind hole. With a 1-1/8 inch diameter and 12 threads per inch (TPI), this tap produces clean, accurate internal threads in applications where minimal thread relief at the bottom of the bore is required. It is used by machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians working on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in production and repair environments.
This bottom tap is suited for threading blind holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where a plug or taper tap has already been used to start the thread. It is a standard import-grade tool appropriate for general shop use, maintenance operations, and situations where high-volume production tooling is not required. The 1-1/8 inch by 12 TPI specification covers a coarse-to-medium pitch range common in industrial fastener and machinery applications.
Designed as a standard hand bottom tap for cutting 1-1/8 inch by 12 TPI internal threads in blind or through holes across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This tap is installed by hand using a tap wrench or T-handle; power tapping is not recommended without appropriate torque control. Always ensure the correct drill size for 1-1/8 inch by 12 TPI threads has been used prior to tapping. Apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread quality. Follow standard shop safety practices, including securing the workpiece before beginning the tapping operation.
