The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL CHD-18750-12-I is a carbon hex rethread die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. Built in a hex body profile for use with a standard die stock or wrench, this die cuts a 1-7/8 inch diameter thread at 12 threads per inch (TPI). It is used by plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics working on heavy fasteners, pipe fittings, and threaded rod where thread restoration is required rather than full replacement of the fastener.
This rethread die is suited for field repair and shop use on bolts, studs, and pipe nipples with 1-7/8 inch 12 TPI external threads. The hex body allows quick indexing and repositioning during rethreading operations, making it practical for confined or awkward installations. It is appropriate for use on both new thread chasing and light restoration passes on lightly damaged threads.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement hex rethread die for use on external 1-7/8 inch 12 TPI threaded fasteners, studs, bolts, and pipe fittings requiring thread restoration or chasing.
Thread restoration dies should be installed and operated by qualified tradespeople familiar with threading tools and fastener specifications. Ensure the workpiece is secured in a vise before beginning any rethreading pass. Apply a cutting or threading oil to the die and workpiece to reduce friction and extend die life. Never force the die over severely deformed or cross-threaded material without first dressing the thread start with a file.
