The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL CHD-12500-12-I is a carbon hex rethread die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on fasteners and threaded rods. This die cuts a 1-1/4 inch diameter, 12 threads-per-inch National Fine (NF) thread profile. The hexagonal body allows a standard wrench or die stock to grip and drive the tool with controlled torque. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics use this type of rethread die when field-installed hardware shows thread damage that would otherwise require full fastener replacement.
This rethread die is suited for jobsite and shop use wherever 1-1/4 inch NF threaded components need to be cleaned up or re-cut. Typical applications include restoring threads on structural bolts, pipe fittings, threaded rod, and mechanical equipment fasteners. The carbon steel construction handles the cutting loads associated with standard steel and softer alloy fasteners in both residential and light commercial maintenance work.
Designed for use on external threads with a 1-1/4 inch diameter, 12 threads-per-inch National Fine (NF) specification. Suitable for use with standard hex die stocks and adjustable die holders that accept this body size.
This tool is used by licensed tradespeople and experienced mechanics performing thread restoration on de-energized or depressurized equipment. Before rethreading any fastener on a mechanical system, relieve all pressure, disconnect electrical power, and secure the workpiece. Apply cutting oil to the die and the damaged thread before use to reduce heat buildup and extend tool life. Dispose of metal shavings in accordance with local shop safety practices.
