The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL CHD-1032-I is a 10-32 NC carbon steel hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads without full replacement of the fastener or threaded component. The hexagonal body allows engagement with a standard open-end wrench or adjustable wrench, making it practical for field repairs and bench work alike. It is suited for use on 10-32 Unified National Coarse thread profiles and is a standard tool in the inventory of electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics who encounter thread damage during routine service calls.
This rethreading die is intended for light restoration work on existing external threads rather than cutting new threads from raw stock. Typical applications include cleaning up bolt and screw threads on equipment panels, junction boxes, pipe fittings, valve stems, and mechanical fasteners encountered in commercial and residential trade work. The import-grade carbon steel construction makes it a cost-effective option for occasional rethreading tasks where a high-production threading die is not required.
Designed for use on 10-32 NC external threads. Suitable as a rethreading die for standard Unified National Coarse fasteners in that thread size across a range of trade applications.
Thread restoration dies should be used by qualified trade professionals familiar with threading tool operation. Before use, de-energize and lock out any equipment being serviced per applicable OSHA and NEC lockout/tagout requirements. Apply cutting oil or thread lubricant to the die and the fastener to reduce friction and extend die life. Turn the die slowly onto the damaged thread, backing off periodically to clear chips, and avoid forcing the die over severely deformed threads that may require re-cutting with a standard threading die instead.
