The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL C1090-132-I is a 1-1/2 inch cobalt screw machine (stub) length drill bit with a 1/2 inch reduced shank. Cobalt construction gives the bit enhanced heat resistance and hardness compared to standard high-speed steel, making it well suited for drilling through tough ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. The stub-length body provides greater rigidity and reduced deflection in demanding production and repair applications. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance technicians are the typical end users.
This drill bit is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial production environments where drilling large-diameter holes in hard or abrasive materials is a routine requirement. The 1/2 inch shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders on drill presses, milling machines, and heavy-duty hand drills. Its screw machine length geometry is preferred when working in tight setups or when rigidity is more critical than reach.
Designed for use in drill presses, milling machines, and heavy-duty hand drills equipped with a 1/2 inch chuck or compatible collet holder.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hard materials to extend bit life and maintain cut quality. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or excessive wear is present. Always follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when operating drill presses or milling equipment.
