The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL A712-132-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) aircraft-length drill bit ground with a 135-degree split-point tip. The extended 12-inch overall length (OAL) is designed to reach deep or awkward drilling locations that standard-length bits cannot access. At 3/32 inch in diameter, this bit handles precision holes in metal, aluminum, and composite materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry, eliminates the need for a center punch on most surfaces, and requires less feed pressure than conventional 118-degree bits. Licensed contractors, aircraft maintenance technicians, and sheet-metal workers keep this bit on hand for demanding structural and fabrication work.
Aircraft-length drill bits serve applications where reach is critical — drilling through structural members, elongated assemblies, or stacked material where a jobber-length bit falls short. This bit is well suited for HVAC duct fabrication, electrical rough-in through deep framing, plumbing penetrations, and general sheet-metal trade work. The HSS construction handles ferrous and non-ferrous metals at standard drill press or hand-drill speeds without specialty coatings required for most common trade materials.
Designed as a standard shank aircraft-length drill bit compatible with 3/8-inch and larger keyed or keyless drill chucks used in hand drills, right-angle drills, and drill presses.
Install this bit in a properly sized chuck and confirm it is fully seated and tightened before operation. Secure workpieces firmly to prevent movement during drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is present.
