The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL 1090-124-I is a high speed steel (HSS) slow spiral drill bit designed for slow-drill applications where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. Built with a 1-3/8 inch cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch straight shank, this bit is suited for use in standard drill presses and machine setups. The slow spiral (low helix) geometry helps move chips out of deep holes efficiently, reducing heat buildup and tool wear. At 1.2 pounds, it is a solid, single-piece tool appropriate for production and maintenance drilling tasks performed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and trade professionals.
This drill bit is intended for drilling through softer metals, wood composites, plastics, and similar materials where a slow helix angle improves hole quality and bit longevity. The 1/2 inch shank allows direct chucking in standard 1/2 inch or larger drill press chucks and compatible machine spindles. It is well suited to fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial job sites where larger-diameter HSS tooling is a routine requirement.
Designed as a standard replacement or stock drill bit for use in any drill press or machine tool equipped with a 1/2 inch or larger chuck capable of accepting a 1-3/8 inch diameter HSS drill bit.
Install and remove this bit only with the drill press or machine powered down and the spindle at a full stop. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid for metal drilling applications to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and wear eye protection whenever operating rotary cutting tools.
