The E-Z LOK HI-132-WH is a brass unheaded heat-installed threaded insert designed to create durable, load-bearing threads in thermoplastic parts. Using heat or ultrasonic installation, the insert is pressed flush into a pre-drilled hole where it bonds directly to the host material as it cools. The result is a permanent, torque-resistant thread that handles repeated fastening cycles without stripping. Sized for 10-32 UNF threads, the insert measures 0.278 inches in outside diameter and 0.375 inches in overall length. Electricians, equipment assemblers, and maintenance technicians working with plastic enclosures and housings rely on this insert type for reliable fastening points.
This insert is suited for light industrial, HVAC control panel, electrical enclosure, and equipment housing applications where a plastic substrate needs a metal-threaded anchor. The unheaded profile sits flush with or below the surface of the parent material, making it the right choice when a protruding flange is not acceptable. Installation requires a 1/4-inch drill bit to prepare the hole. The 0.252-inch hole diameter, combined with the 0.277-inch pilot diameter, allows the insert to self-locate during seating. Each package contains 50 inserts.
Designed as an OEM-style heat-installed threaded insert for thermoplastic components requiring 10-32 UNF machine screw threads in applications with a 1/4-inch prepared hole.
Installation is performed by a technician using a soldering iron, dedicated heat-set tool, or ultrasonic press to drive the insert into the pre-drilled hole. Power down any assembly or enclosure completely before modifying fastening points. Use the correct tip size to apply even pressure and avoid cracking the surrounding plastic material. Follow the plastic manufacturer's recommended temperature range to prevent thermal damage to the substrate.
