The DYNABRADE 92202 is a coated abrasive belt designed for use with narrow belt sanders and file belt tools in metalworking, fabrication, and finishing applications. Built on a Y-weight polyester cloth backing, this belt handles aggressive stock removal and contour work on metals and other hard materials. The 80 grit zirconia alumina abrasive delivers medium-grade cutting action suited for weld blending, deburring, and surface preparation. At 1-1/2 inches wide and 30 inches in overall length, it fits a range of compact belt tools used in production and maintenance environments. Licensed tradespeople and skilled fabricators are the primary installers.
This belt is suited for both wet and dry operation, making it versatile across grinding and finishing stations where coolant or water is used to manage heat and extend belt life. The zirconia alumina grain self-sharpens under pressure, maintaining cut rate longer than standard aluminum oxide on ferrous metals and stainless steel. Typical applications include weld seam blending, pipe and tubing finishing, and general metalwork surface prep in industrial, shipbuilding, and mechanical fabrication settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement abrasive belt for narrow belt sanders and file belt tools that accept a 1-1/2 inch by 30 inch belt configuration.
Install and replace abrasive belts only after powering down the tool and allowing all moving parts to come to a complete stop. Verify the belt tracking adjustment on the tool before resuming operation to prevent edge wear or belt rolloff. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear before installing a new belt, as damaged contact surfaces reduce belt life and cut consistency. Follow the tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable workplace safety standards when operating belt sanders at elevated speeds.
