The DYNABRADE 82569 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive material removal in grinding, blending, and finishing applications. Measuring 1/2 inch wide by 24 inches long, this belt uses a ceramic abrasive grain at 36 grit, placing it in the very coarse grade range. Ceramic grain self-sharpens under pressure, maintaining a consistent cut rate longer than aluminum oxide alternatives. The cloth backing with Y-weight construction provides durability under high-tension belt file and inline grinder use. The belt supports both wet and dry operation, giving technicians flexibility depending on the workpiece material and cooling requirements.
This belt is suited for metalworking trades including welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair shops where tight-radius belt tools are standard. The 1/2-inch width fits narrow belt file grinders and inline sanders commonly used on pipes, weld seams, tube stock, and confined joint areas. Very coarse 36-grit ceramic is appropriate for rapid stock removal, weld blending, and deburring on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Wet or dry operation makes it adaptable to both benchtop and handheld power tool setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement abrasive belt for narrow belt file grinders and inline belt sanders accepting 1/2 inch by 24 inch belts.
Installation is performed by trained machinists, fabricators, or tool operators following the belt grinder or file tool manufacturer guidelines. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before changing belts. Confirm the belt tracking and tension are set per the tool manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace if any defects are found.
