The DYNABRADE 58500 is a pneumatic palm-style orbital sander designed for surface finishing and material removal on flat workpieces. It accepts a rectangular 3 x 4.25 inch hook-face sanding pad and operates at 10,000 orbits per minute with a 3/32 inch orbit diameter, delivering consistent, swirl-free finish work. The tool runs on 90 psig shop air through a 1/4 inch NPT inlet and consumes 13 CFM at full load. Weighing 2.6 pounds, it is compact enough for sustained single-hand use. Technicians and finishing tradespeople install and operate this sander in fabrication, woodworking, auto body, and general surface prep environments.
The 58500 suits residential and light commercial finishing applications where a rectangular pad profile is needed to reach flat panels, frames, and tight surface areas. The rear exhaust design directs spent air away from the work surface, keeping the operator and workpiece clear of debris blowback. It ships with the 56315 hook-face sanding pad installed, allowing the tool to accept standard hook-and-loop abrasives immediately on receipt. Typical use cases include furniture finishing, composite panel prep, and production-line surface conditioning.
Designed for use with hook-and-loop rectangular abrasives sized for a 3 x 4.25 inch pad. Includes the DYNABRADE 56315 hook-face sanding pad. Compatible abrasives and replacement pads should match the 3 x 4.25 inch rectangular format specified for this tool.
Connect to a clean, dry compressed air supply at 90 psig using a minimum 1/4 inch inside diameter air hose. Always depressurize the air line before attaching or removing the tool or changing abrasives. A filter-regulator-lubricator inline unit is recommended to protect the pneumatic motor and maintain consistent operating pressure. Follow applicable OSHA and shop safety requirements for pneumatic tool use, including eye and hearing protection during operation.
