The DYNABRADE 56830 is a palm-style air-powered random orbital sander designed for surface finishing, stock removal, and preparation work in professional trade and industrial environments. It accepts a 6-inch round sanding backing pad and operates at up to 12,000 orbits per minute (OPM) with a 3/16-inch orbit diameter, delivering consistent scratch patterns without swirl marks. Air consumption is 18 CFM at 90 psi with a 1/4-inch NPT inlet, making it compatible with standard shop air setups. The unit weighs 1.5 pounds and includes a premium urethane weight-mated sanding pad. It is intended for installation and use by professional body technicians, industrial finishers, and experienced tradespeople.
The 56830 is suited for residential and commercial finishing applications including automotive bodywork, wood finishing, composite surface prep, and general abrasive work. The palm grip form factor keeps the operator's hand close to the work surface for control during detail passes. The integrated vacuum port allows connection to dust extraction systems, reducing airborne particulate at the work surface. Its lightweight design supports extended overhead or vertical surface work without excessive operator fatigue.
Designed for use with 6-inch round sanding discs and backing pads; intended as a direct-use pneumatic sander for standard shop air systems operating at 90 psi with a minimum 1/4-inch supply line.
Installation is performed by the equipment operator or pneumatic tool technician. Before connecting to an air supply, verify the line pressure does not exceed the rated 90 psi and that the air supply is equipped with a filter-regulator-lubricator (FRL) unit to protect internal components. Always disconnect the air supply before changing sanding pads or performing any maintenance. Follow applicable OSHA and facility safety guidelines for pneumatic tool operation, including use of appropriate PPE such as eye protection and respiratory equipment when sanding.
