The DYNABRADE 56818 is a palm-style air-powered random orbital sander built for professional surface finishing in industrial, automotive, and fabrication environments. It runs at 12,000 OPM and draws 18 CFM at 90 psig through a 1/4 NPT inlet, making it compatible with standard shop air systems. The 5-inch round pad with a 3/16-inch orbit diameter delivers consistent swirl-free finish passes across flat and moderately contoured surfaces. At 0.28 HP and 2 pounds, it reduces operator fatigue during extended sanding operations. A licensed HVAC tech, auto body technician, or industrial painter would be the typical end user.
This sander is suited for material removal and finish sanding on metal, primer, wood, and composite surfaces in both production and repair settings. The vacuum-ready design allows connection to a dust extraction system, keeping the work surface clear and reducing airborne particulate. The included premium urethane weight-mated sanding pad helps maintain consistent pad contact across the work surface. It is appropriate for shops and field service environments where a compact, lightweight random orbital tool is needed for fine surface prep.
Designed for use with standard 5-inch round sanding discs and vacuum-ready backing pads. Air supply requirements are 18 CFM at 90 psig through a 1/4 NPT inlet fitting.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with pneumatic tool connections and shop air systems. Shut off and bleed the air supply line before connecting or disconnecting the tool. Verify that the air compressor and hose assembly can sustain 18 CFM at 90 psig before use. Do not exceed the rated inlet pressure, and always inspect the pad and backing hardware before attaching abrasives.
