The DYNABRADE 53232 is a pneumatic angle grinder built for heavy-duty stock removal, rust elimination, and scale cleaning in industrial and fabrication environments. It runs at 6,000 RPM and draws on a 2 HP air motor fed through a 1/2 inch NPT inlet at 80 CFM. The 5/8-11 spindle accepts Type 27 grinding wheels up to 7 inches in diameter. A safety-lock throttle lever is included as a standard feature, reducing the risk of accidental engagement during handling. At 9.5 inches overall length, the tool balances reach and control in tight work areas. Licensed mechanics, metal fabricators, and maintenance professionals are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
The 53232 is suited for applications requiring aggressive surface preparation, including weld grinding, rust removal, and scale stripping on structural steel, pipe, and heavy plate. The rear exhaust directs airflow away from the work surface and the operator, making it practical in confined spaces and overhead work. The Type 27 wheel configuration supports flat and slightly recessed grinding profiles, which are standard requirements in shipbuilding, pipeline, and general metal fabrication shops.
Designed for use with Type 27 depressed-center grinding wheels with a 5/8-11 arbor thread. Requires a compressed air supply capable of delivering adequate volume at the rated CFM through a 1/2 inch NPT air line connection.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with pneumatic tool safety and applicable ANSI B186.1 standards for air tools. Ensure the air supply is depressurized and the inlet fitting is fully secured before mounting or changing a wheel. Always inspect the grinding wheel for cracks or damage before each use, and verify wheel speed rating meets or exceeds the tool free speed. Never exceed the maximum wheel diameter rating of 7 inches for this spindle configuration.
