The DYNABRADE 52679 is a straight extended-length pneumatic die grinder designed for precision grinding, deburring, porting, and surface finishing in industrial and trade environments. It operates at up to 20,000 RPM with a 1 HP motor drawing 44 CFM at 90 psi, making it suitable for sustained material removal in tight or deep cavities where a standard-length grinder cannot reach. The lever-style throttle provides controlled speed modulation during operation. Rear exhaust directs spent air away from the work surface, reducing debris contamination on the part. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, fabricators, and maintenance mechanics are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
The 52679 is used in manufacturing, fabrication shops, aerospace MRO, and general metalworking applications where extended reach into bores, ports, or confined workpieces is required. The 1/4-inch collet accepts standard rotary burrs, mounted points, and carbide tooling commonly stocked for pneumatic die grinder use. The extended-length spindle allows access to recessed surfaces that standard die grinders cannot reach without repositioning the workpiece. Optional collet inserts expand tooling compatibility to additional shank sizes.
Accepts 1/4 inch (50013) and 6 mm (50016) collet inserts included with the tool. Compatible with optional collet inserts: 1/8 inch (50065), 3/8 inch (50014), and 8 mm (50039), each sold separately.
Connection to a compressed air supply should be made by a qualified operator familiar with pneumatic tool safety. Verify the air supply is regulated to 90 psi at the tool inlet before operation; exceeding rated pressure can reduce tool life and create a safety hazard. Ensure the collet is fully seated and the collet nut is properly tightened before mounting any rotary accessory. Inspect the grinding accessory for cracks or damage before each use and confirm its rated RPM meets or exceeds the tool speed.
