The DYNABRADE 52657 is a pneumatic handheld disc sander designed for aggressive material removal, surface preparation, and finishing on metal, wood, and composite substrates. Powered by compressed air at 90 psi and consuming 26 CFM, it delivers 1.3 horsepower and spins a 7-inch disc at up to 6,000 RPM. The side exhaust directs air away from the work surface and operator. It accepts a 1/4-inch NPT air inlet, making it compatible with standard shop air lines. The unit ships with a 51151 backing pad and flange included. Metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing trades use this sander for production and maintenance work.
The 52657 is suited for industrial and manufacturing environments where a right-angle or straight-body disc sander is needed for weld blending, rust removal, paint stripping, or surface conditioning. Its 7-inch pad size handles a wide range of abrasive discs available in that diameter. At 7.9 pounds, it is compact enough for extended handheld use on flat panels, structural steel, and fabricated assemblies. Typical installation scenarios include metal fabrication shops, shipyards, automotive body work, and general maintenance facilities.
Designed for use with 7-inch diameter abrasive discs. Ships with the 51151 Backing Pad, 7-inch (178 mm) diameter, and flange as included accessories.
This tool is installed and serviced by qualified pneumatic tool technicians or experienced fabrication trades. Before mounting or changing an abrasive disc, disconnect the air supply line completely. Verify shop air pressure does not exceed the rated 90 psi operating pressure, and ensure the air line delivers adequate CFM to sustain 26 CFM tool demand. Always confirm the abrasive disc is rated at or above the tool free speed before use.
