The DYNABRADE 52277 is a straight air die grinder designed for precision grinding, deburring, porting, and surface finishing in industrial and trade environments. Powered by compressed air at 90 psig, it delivers up to 18,000 RPM through a lever-style throttle, giving the operator smooth, controllable speed for detail work. The grinder accepts a standard 1/4 inch collet and features rear exhaust to direct airflow away from the workpiece. At 2.3 pounds, it is light enough for extended overhead or confined-space use. Metalworkers, fabricators, machinists, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users.
The 52277 is suited for metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, automotive refinishing, and general industrial production. Its straight-body design allows direct access to tight areas such as ports, weld joints, and internal bores. The lever throttle provides precise speed modulation, which is important when working with carbide burrs, mounted points, or small grinding wheels. It operates on standard shop air supply at 90 psig and is appropriate for both bench-side and floor-level grinding tasks.
Accepts a 1/4 inch collet insert (50013) included at purchase. Optional collet inserts for 1/8 inch (50065), 3/8 inch (50014), 6 mm (50016), and 8 mm (50039) shanks are available separately, making the 52277 compatible with a wide range of carbide burrs, mounted grinding points, and rotary accessories in those shank sizes.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with pneumatic tool safety practices. Before connecting to an air supply, verify the line pressure does not exceed the rated 90 psig and confirm all fittings are properly seated and free of leaks. Always install the appropriate collet insert securely before mounting any accessory, and ensure the accessory RPM rating meets or exceeds the tool speed. Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and hearing protection during operation.
