The DYNABRADE 48500 is a pneumatic handheld disc sander built for high-speed material removal, surface prep, and finishing work in industrial and trade environments. Powered by compressed air at 90 psi and 23 CFM, it runs at 25,000 RPM and delivers 0.4 hp through a compact 2-inch disc pad. The rear exhaust design directs airflow away from the work surface and operator. With a 1/4-inch air inlet, it connects directly to standard shop air lines without additional fittings in most setups. This tool is installed and operated by industrial maintenance technicians, fabricators, and finishing tradespeople.
The DYNABRADE 48500 is suited for use on metal, composites, and other hard substrates where a small-diameter disc provides controlled, precise stock removal or blending. The 2-inch pad size makes it practical in confined areas or on contoured surfaces where larger sanders cannot reach. It ships with a wrench for disc changes and is intended for use with 2-inch abrasive discs. Typical applications include weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning in both production and field settings.
Designed for use with 2-inch abrasive discs with a pad size of 2 inches (51 mm). Verify disc arbor and backing type before use.
A licensed or qualified pneumatic tool technician should connect this sander to a properly regulated compressed air supply before operation. Shut off and bleed the air line before attaching or removing the tool or changing discs. Verify supply pressure does not exceed 90 psi at the inlet to avoid over-speeding the spindle. Follow OSHA and manufacturer guidelines for abrasive wheel use, including disc inspection and appropriate personal protective equipment.
