The DYNABRADE 11477 is a pneumatic belt sander designed for heavy-duty surface work in industrial and fabrication environments. It accepts belts from 1 to 2 inches wide by 30 inches long and runs at 7,200 RPM with a belt speed of 4,700 FPM, driven by a 2 HP motor. Air supply requirements are 90 psi through a 1/2 inch NPT inlet, with an air consumption rate of 70 CFM. The front exhaust location keeps spent air directed away from the work surface. At 14 pounds, this tool is built for sustained use in grinding, blending, and finishing operations. It is typically installed and operated by metal fabricators, millwrights, and maintenance machinists.
The 11477 is suited for applications including blending, deburring, finishing, polishing, and weld grinding on metal workpieces in both production shop and field maintenance settings. The included 11870 Contact Arm Assembly and 11871 Contact Arm with Pressure Bar and Top Control Handle allow the operator to adapt the tool to contoured or flat surfaces. The top control handle placement supports controlled pressure during extended passes on weld seams or cast surfaces. This sander is appropriate for commercial fabrication shops, shipyards, structural steel operations, and industrial maintenance departments.
Designed for use with standard 30 inch abrasive belts in widths from 1 to 2 inches. Requires a compressed air supply capable of sustaining 90 psi and a minimum 1/2 inch hose size to deliver adequate CFM for rated performance.
This tool is installed and operated by trained machinists, fabricators, or millwrights familiar with pneumatic abrasive equipment. Before connecting to an air supply, verify the compressor and distribution system can sustain 90 psi at 70 CFM through a minimum 1/2 inch supply hose. Always depressurize the air line and inspect the belt and contact arm assembly before each use. Follow applicable OSHA abrasive tool safety standards and wear appropriate PPE including eye and hearing protection when operating.
