The DWYER AVUL-5DA1 is a duct-mount air velocity transmitter designed for accurate airflow measurement in HVAC and building automation applications. It measures air velocity across a range of 0 to 4,000 feet per minute (FPM) and delivers universal current and voltage output signals compatible with most building automation and energy management systems. The transmitter provides 5% accuracy, making it suitable for air balancing, demand-controlled ventilation, and system commissioning work. At 8 inches in probe length, it is sized for standard duct installations. Licensed HVAC technicians and building controls contractors are the primary installers.
This transmitter is used in residential and commercial duct systems where continuous air velocity monitoring is required. Typical applications include air handling units, supply and return duct mains, VAV systems, and laboratory exhaust or pressurization control. The universal current and voltage output allows direct integration with DDC controllers, data loggers, and building automation system controllers without additional signal conditioning hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation transmitter for duct-mounted air velocity sensing applications in commercial and residential HVAC systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or controls contractor familiar with duct penetration work and low-voltage signal wiring. Power down the air handling unit and de-energize the control circuit before inserting the probe into the duct. Follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage wiring runs and shield signal cables where EMI interference is a concern. Verify output signal type selection matches the connected controller input before powering up the system.
