The DWYER AVUL-3DB1 is a duct-mount air velocity transmitter designed for HVAC monitoring and building automation applications. It measures air velocity across a range of 0 to 4,000 feet per minute (FPM) with 3% accuracy, making it suitable for airflow verification in commercial and industrial duct systems. The transmitter communicates over BACnet, allowing direct integration with building management systems (BMS) and DDC controllers. Licensed HVAC technicians and building automation technicians are the primary installers. The probe extends 8 inches, sized for standard rectangular and round duct installations.
The AVUL-3DB1 is used in commercial HVAC duct systems where real-time airflow data is required for balancing, control, or energy monitoring. Typical applications include variable air volume (VAV) systems, air handling units, and exhaust or supply ductwork where BACnet-compatible instrumentation is specified. The unit is suited for both new construction and retrofit projects requiring accurate velocity measurement with digital network communication.
Designed as an OEM-style duct-mount air velocity transmitter for commercial HVAC ductwork applications requiring BACnet-compatible instrumentation.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or building automation technician. Shut off the air handling system and de-energize associated control panels before inserting the probe into the duct. The probe must be positioned according to the manufacturer's insertion depth guidelines to ensure accurate velocity readings. Wiring to the BACnet network should follow NEC low-voltage wiring requirements and the site's network topology standards.
