The DURA PLASTIC PVC80U112 is a 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVC union fitting with slip x slip (socket) connections on both ends. It allows a removable, pressure-rated joint in rigid PVC piping systems, making it possible to disconnect and reconnect a section of pipe without cutting. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides higher pressure ratings and greater impact resistance compared to Schedule 40, making this union suitable for demanding industrial, commercial, and residential pressure piping applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting wherever future serviceability is required in a PVC line.
This union is used in cold and hot water distribution, chemical process lines, pool and spa circulation systems, irrigation mains, and industrial fluid handling where PVC is the specified material. The slip x slip end connections solvent-weld directly to 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 or Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Its design allows the line to be broken and re-joined without solvent welding new fittings each time, which is especially useful at equipment connections such as pumps, filters, and valves.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting compatible with 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-weld socket connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use a PVC-compatible primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the line. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of the fitting for the fluid and conditions in service.
