The DURA PLASTIC PVC80T12 is a 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVC socket tee fitting configured in an S x S x S (socket by socket by socket) end pattern. It joins three sections of 1/2 inch PVC pipe at a 90-degree branch point and is built to the heavier wall thickness and pressure rating of the Schedule 80 standard. The gray color distinguishes it visually from Schedule 40 fittings on the job site. Plumbers and pipefitters use this fitting in systems where higher pressure ratings or added mechanical strength are required over standard Schedule 40 components.
This tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution lines where PVC material is compatible with the fluid being conveyed. The socket-style connections accept solvent-cement joins on all three ports. It is appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature fluid service within the pressure and temperature limits of Schedule 80 PVC. No threaded connections are present on this fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Isolate and depressurize the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use a PVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings published by the manufacturer for Schedule 80 PVC.
