The DURA PLASTIC PVC80COUPFIPFIP12 is a Schedule 80 PVC socket coupling designed to join two lengths of 0.5 inch pipe in pressure piping systems. The socket-by-socket (S x S) configuration accepts plain-end pipe on both sides, bonded with solvent cement for a permanent, leak-resistant joint. Schedule 80 wall thickness makes this coupling suitable for higher-pressure applications where standard Schedule 40 fittings are not adequate. Plumbers, pipefitters, and irrigation installers commonly use this fitting in both above-ground and below-grade service.
This coupling is used in residential and commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, chemical handling lines, and irrigation distribution where a straight in-line connection is needed. The 0.5 inch size fits common small-bore branch lines, fixture supply runs, and low-flow distribution manifolds. Its gray PVC construction is typical for Schedule 80 pressure fittings and is readily identifiable on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 0.5 inch Schedule 80 PVC pressure pipe joined by solvent cement per ASTM D2467 socket dimensions.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and dry both the pipe end and socket interior, apply PVC primer where required by code, then apply solvent cement and assemble with a quarter-turn twist per the cement manufacturer instructions. Allow full cure time before returning the line to service.
