The DURA PLASTIC PVC80COUP112 is a Schedule 80 PVC socket coupling designed to join two sections of 1-1/2 inch pipe in a straight run. This fitting uses a slip socket (S x S) configuration on both ends, accepting solvent-welded pipe connections for a permanent, pressure-rated joint. Schedule 80 PVC is specified for higher-pressure applications where the thicker wall construction provides added mechanical strength over Schedule 40. Plumbers, pipefitters, and irrigation contractors install this coupling in both above-ground and below-grade piping systems where PVC is an approved material.
This coupling is used in residential and commercial plumbing, chemical distribution lines, irrigation systems, and industrial process piping where a straight-run pipe repair or extension is required. The 1-1/2 inch socket configuration is common in drain, waste, and vent systems as well as pressure lines operating within the rated limits of Schedule 80 PVC. Both sockets accept standard 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe solvent-welded in place.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line before cutting in or replacing this fitting. Both pipe ends must be cut square, deburred, and cleaned before applying PVC primer and solvent cement in the proper sequence. Allow full cure time before restoring system pressure.
