The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPS32 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from Schedule 80 PVC for high-pressure piping applications. It transitions from a 3-inch spigot (male) end to a 2-inch socket (female) end, allowing a smaller-diameter pipe or fitting to be joined inline without adding length to the run. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure ratings and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40, making this bushing suitable for industrial, chemical, and heavy-duty commercial plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the primary installers of this component.
This reducer bushing is used in pressure piping systems where a line reduction from 3 inches to 2 inches is required within a tight space. The flush design seats fully inside the receiving socket, keeping the transition compact. Typical applications include industrial process piping, irrigation mainlines, chemical distribution systems, and commercial plumbing rough-in where Schedule 80 PVC is specified for elevated pressure or corrosive-environment service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems requiring a 3-inch to 2-inch inline reduction with a spigot-by-socket end connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only Schedule 80-rated PVC primer and solvent cement, allow full cure time before restoring system pressure, and do not apply heat to accelerate cure on pressure-rated fittings.
