The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPS2112 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from Schedule 80 PVC. It connects a 2-inch spigot end to a 1-1/2-inch socket end, allowing a pipe run to step down in diameter within a straight-line fitting profile. The flush bushing design seats fully inside a mating fitting rather than sitting proud of it, keeping the assembly compact. This fitting is installed by plumbers, irrigation contractors, and pool or spa service technicians wherever a Schedule 80 pressure-rated reduction is needed in a PVC piping system.
This reducer bushing is suited for residential and commercial applications including potable water supply, chemical feed lines, pool and spa plumbing, and industrial process piping where Schedule 80 wall thickness is required for additional pressure rating or mechanical protection. The spigot inlet slips into a standard 2-inch Schedule 80 socket fitting, while the 1-1/2-inch socket outlet accepts a standard Schedule 80 or Schedule 40 spigot or pipe end. It is a common transition fitting used when upsizing or downsizing branch lines, equipment connections, or service ports.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/2-inch reduction with a flush bushing profile.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified trade technicians following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use a compatible Schedule 80 PVC solvent cement and primer per the cement manufacturer and ASTM D2564 requirements. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service and do not pressure-test until the joint has cured completely.
