The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPS21 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from Schedule 80 PVC. It transitions a 2-inch spigot connection down to a 1-inch socket connection, allowing a technician to reduce pipe size within a pressurized or chemical-handling run without adding extra fittings. Schedule 80 PVC features a thicker wall than Schedule 40, making it suitable for higher-pressure applications and environments where greater impact and chemical resistance are required. Plumbers and industrial pipe fitters install this bushing wherever a direct in-line reduction is needed in a PVC system.
This bushing is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems, irrigation lines, pool and spa plumbing, and industrial fluid-handling applications where PVC Schedule 80 pressure-rated fittings are specified. The spigot end inserts directly into a 2-inch Schedule 80 socket fitting, while the 1-inch socket end accepts a standard 1-inch PVC pipe or spigot fitting. It is well suited for chemical feed lines, pool equipment manifolds, and any application requiring a compact, flush-style reducer in a PVC pressure system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems requiring a 2-inch spigot to 1-inch socket reducer bushing.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for solvent-welded PVC fittings. Shut off system pressure and drain the line completely before cutting or joining any fittings. Use a PVC primer and Schedule 80-rated solvent cement, applying both per the manufacturer instructions and IPC guidelines. Avoid over-inserting the spigot end beyond the socket stop, and allow full cure time before returning the system to pressure.
