The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPFIP3412 is a Schedule 80 PVC flush socket reducer bushing designed to reduce a 0.75-inch socket connection to a 0.5-inch female-threaded port. Constructed from rigid PVC, this fitting is rated for higher-pressure applications than standard Schedule 40 components, making it suitable for industrial, commercial, and demanding residential piping systems. The spigot-by-female-thread (Sp x F) configuration allows the bushing to seat flush within a corresponding socket fitting, keeping the assembly compact and minimizing stress on the joint. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of bushing wherever a reduction in line size is required without adding appreciable length to the run.
This reducer bushing is used in pressure piping systems that require a compact inline size transition. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for PVC pressure fittings. Solvent-cement the spigot end into the receiving socket using a PVC-rated primer and Schedule 80-compatible cement, following the manufacturer's cure time before pressurizing the system. Apply PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant to the female-threaded port before engaging any male-threaded fittings. Depressurize and drain the line completely before making any modifications to an existing system.
